Greenway has many traditions that make this school so great and unique, but have you ever wondered which traditions are students’ and staff’s favorite? What about the traditions they would want to bring back, or even create?
“My favorite tradition is Celebration of the Arts. I enjoy seeing all the Performing Arts work together,” Mr. L said.

“I like our tradition of Link Crew welcoming our new Freshman on the first day of school. I think that really goes a long way in making our new frosh feel better about starting at a big new scary school,” Mr. M said.
“I do wish we had graduation on our football field at the end of each year. I miss when we used to do that a long time ago. I understand it’s hot and the seating is more limited for family/friends, but I always liked the idea of saying goodbye to our seniors on our own campus, not some big arena that holds no sentimental value.”

“I think the bon fire was always a neat tradition for high schools,” Mr. Mason said.
‘I think a cool new tradition would be for the school to adopt a disease for the year and raise money for it all year long and then have the school write a check to that charity. It could be called something like ‘Demons for a cause’ or ‘Coins for a Cure.’ Students and staff could then put change in a bucket to help fund the check. Each year a new charity is chosen.”

“The homecoming parade during the fall on Friday afternoon has to be my favorite Greenway tradition. The police would close Greenway road to traffic and our student groups would travel down the street in a variety of floats, cars, trucks. We would then all go into the football stadium,” Mr. Anderson said.
“I hope we consider having a fall rush once agin. At the beginning of the fall semester, athletic and academic groups would have tables set up to let students know what programs are on campus.”
“Homecoming week in general specifically demon fest,” Ms. Gould said.
“I think a cool idea would be wish week, partnering with make a wish.”

“Water balloon fight after demon fest.”
“Senior sunrise really unites seniors together; everyone usually sleeps in, and it gets everyone up early to drink some coffee and watch the sunrise,” Senior Boston Gadsby said.
“Something wish we did is during senior sunrise I wish we did a candle light ceremony to kind of solidify a new chapter in our life’s and letting go of all the stuff in the past.”

“I enjoy my school’s tradition of assemblies because they bring sense of community while also bringing students together to celebrate our achievements and all of our values. These gatherings provide an opportunity for us to honor our school, showcase talents, and learn about important topics in an engaging way while having fun. Assemblies create a lively atmosphere that enhances school spirit and encourages students and staff alike,” Freshman Remmy Aden said.
“One thing I wish our school would do is have more dances.”
