Greenway NJROTC Volunteers at Spartan Race, Assisting Over 400 Young Athletes
This past Saturday, the dedicated cadets of Greenway NJROTC stepped up to serve their community by volunteering at the Spartan Race, with a special focus on the Kids Spartan Race. Their teamwork and leadership played a crucial role in helping over 400 young racers navigate challenging obstacles and celebrate their achievements at the finish line.
Throughout the event, the Greenway NJROTC cadets provided hands-on support, guiding participants through the demanding course, ensuring safety, and offering encouragement every step of the way. Their efforts extended beyond the race itself, as they proudly presented medals to the finishers and distributed well-earned refreshments, making sure every young competitor was recognized for their determination and hard work.
“The dedication and enthusiasm of the Greenway NJROTC cadets truly elevated the experience for our young racers,” said Chesley Riesgo, Volunteer Coordinator for Spartan Race. “Their leadership and positive energy embodied the Spartan spirit, and we’re grateful for their support in making this event a success.”
Volunteering at the Spartan Race is just one of the many ways Greenway NJROTC continues to engage with and give back to the community. By participating in events like this, cadets strengthen their leadership skills, foster teamwork, and reinforce the values of service and perseverance.
Special recognition to cadet leaders Avi Birtel and Darlene Herra for their leadership and guidance during the event.
