Music fuels the world, uniting people of completely different backgrounds and characteristics. With that being said, let’s hear what Greenway has to say about their favorite concerts!
To start, star math teacher Mr. Mrozinski shared his personal favorite show, which was the American alternative/punk band, 311.
“Every March 11 (3/11 on the calendar), they do a big show somewhere to celebrate ‘311 Day.’ That year it was Vegas and being so close, I had to go!” Mr. Mrozinski said. “They always play an extra long show at these 311 Day shows. I got to hear them play for 5.5 hours! They’d take a break every 1.5 hours or so, but it was pretty much nonstop. Such a good time.”
A special show like this to honor the group sounds so exciting! The educator also prefaced that the show was all the way in 2010!
Senior Anya Simon told Demon Dispatch that her first and favorite concert was for the indie pop band, TV Girl. TV Girl has been active since 2010, but became increasingly popular towards 2020.
“The first concert I ever went to was TV Girl in December of 2023 and it was so, so memorable!” Simon said. “They’ve been my favorite band since early middle school and seeing their growth in the media has been astounding honestly.” Simon also remarked that the tickets were over 250 dollars, but she would gladly see them again!
When asked about her favorite concert experience, Senior Larisa Hatic responded with the passion of a thousand suns!
“One of my favorite concerts I’ve been to was Tomorrow x Together’s Act: Promise tour at Oakland Alameda County Coliseum. The energy in the arena by the artist was something I’ve never experienced before, and I could feel a lot of the passion from both the band and the audience,” Hatic said. Tomorrow X Together has gained immense popularity in the United States for their ethereal vocals and electrifying performances.
“I had front row tickets after being a fan for very long and it really solidified my love for the group. The best part for me definitely had to be meeting the members after the show. I had gotten my VIP lanyard signed by two of the members! It’s one of my all-time favorite memories and seeing them live was an unforgettable experience. I’d definitely go again if they had more US dates. In the future, I would love to see Tomorrow x Together perform again! Their live performances and stage presence makes every dollar worth it. I left with an amazing experience, and having another chance to see them again would make it even more special,” Hatic said.
In similar fashion, Senior Anthony Phan remarks his favorite concert as seeing Enhypen at Desert Diamond Arena.
” I got to meet a bunch of other fans and got so many freebies! Another reason I liked it has to be because of how much interaction the artists had with their fans. I got to talk and meet them while they also performed. They also played most of my favorite songs by them!” Phan said.
Finally, Freshman My My Diep recalled one of her favorite concerts as seeing upcoming K-Pop boy group, P1harmony in Seattle.
“The tickets weren’t very expensive, and they were general admission,” She recalled. “I had a lot of fun, and I would definitely see them again!”
Hearing accounts like this really emphasizes the wonderful effect that music can have on the world!
