Walking down the halls this year, you might notice new faces greeting you at the classroom doors. From head principal to science, Greenway has welcomed eight new staff members on campus who are ready to make their mark.
Some of these new staff members may already look familiar to you. Ms. Di Meola is our new principal and Ms. Threadgill is our new Assistant Principal. They’re back at the home in the land of the Demons, and this time they are ready to lead.
Reflecting on her journey, Ms. Di Meola shared, “I taught math for 14 years and realized that I wanted to try to make a bigger impact and help support teachers and the campus as a whole. Originally, I thought I wanted to be a Curriculum Coordinator and design math curriculum. So, I got my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. As I continued teaching, I realized that while I enjoy creating lessons, what I loved more was the interaction with students and teachers. That led me to get another Masters degree, this time in Educational Leadership.
I started as the Assistant Principal of Discipline and Attendance at Greenway in 2018-2019, then was moved over to Moon Valley as the Assistant Principal of Student Services. I applied for Principal last year and was STOKED to come back to Greenway as the Principal.”
Ms. DiMeola and Ms. Threadgill’s return brings a sense of excitement to both staff and students who are eager to see the new direction she will lead the school in. Many teachers have already expressed how Ms. DiMeola’s approachable style and dedication to students create a positive energy on campus.
Of course, Ms. Di Meola isn’t the only one making waves this year. All of the new staff members bring their own unique teaching styles, passions, and fresh ideas. For example, our new science teacher, Mr. Tarver, is beginning his very first year of teaching, and what better place to start than Greenway. Students will get to be a part of his journey as he learns and grows alongside them.
Mr. Tarver shared, “I actually didn’t go to college planning on being a teacher. I was inspired by one of my professors to give teaching a shot. I gave teaching a shot and I had an absolute blast teaching and seeing the students learn. My teaching philosophy hasn’t really changed a whole lot yet because this is my very first year teaching. I hope that my teaching philosophy is built around positive relationships with students.”
His enthusiasm and willingness to build connections with students highlight the kind of supportive environment Greenway values.
Other new teachers include Mr. Bridwell, Mr. Sheehan, Ms. Trejo, Mr. Hernandez, Ms. Valloleti, and Ms. Drake is now officially a teacher.
New administrators to brand-new teachers, are bringing something special to the table. Their experiences, stories, and passion for education remind us that learning is not just about textbooks and assignments, but it’s also about people. With this strong new team, the 2025 school year is sure to be full of growth, new opportunities, and plenty of Greenway spirit.
