Our dean is Mr. McAdams and he states the role of being a dean has its ups and downs. As the dean says himself, his favorite part about his job is seeing students grow from their mistakes and mature. The worst part of his job is giving out the consequences and punishing students, as nobody would want to do that. He doesn’t like when students don’t change their behavior but he is also very understanding. The dean is very patient but it gets to a point where he can’t keep forgiving you for your actions without change.
Besides all the consequences overall he likes his job because he can get closer to students and see them grow. Below is a picture of Mr. McAdams from when he was in high school.
He said, “You cannot run away from a weakness; you must sometimes fight it out or perish. And if that is so, why not now, and where you stand?” He is basically saying that we all have our own weaknesses that we think we cant do anything because we aren’t good at it but why not give it a try and overcome that fear.
He loves his job no matter what struggles come because those struggles are just temporary not permanent. He also believes we learn and grow from from mistakes which is true. Overall having a person like Mr. McAdams is great because he is very forgiving and believes in everyone.
Below is a picture from Mr. McAdams coaching days.
His personality plays a big part in hid job. He always believes in people, I feel like if you want change and growth from a person , you also have to give respect and listen. There are always two sides to a story and respect goes both ways. And our dean listens.

I think it’s really positive how the article shows Mr. McAdams cares about students learning from mistakes instead of just focusing on punishment.
