This year, our school welcomed a new face to the staff. Meet Ms. Trejo, known for her friendly energy and her bright pink Tesla. She has already started to make an impact in the classroom. To learn more about her approach to teaching and the experiences that brought her here, we caught up with her to find out what truly inspires her and how she hopes to make a difference this school year.
I asked Ms. Trejo what were your first impressions of our school’s community?
She responded with, “First impressions- such a lovely campus that is filled with supportive teachers. All the teachers are friends and super welcoming. The campus BLEEDS green and gold and is filled with school pride.”
Next, I asked what do you enjoy most about working with high school students?
She responded with, “What I enjoy- I enjoy being a supportive adult to young adult. I enjoy making positive and meaningful connections with students. ”
Then, I asked her how do you balance fun with making sure students are learning?
She states, “Balance- I balance “fun” with students learning by establishing good classroom procedures first. You cannot be the “fun teacher” you must be the “good teacher” who likes to have fun.”
Lastly, I asked what are your goals for this school year?
She expressed “Goals- My goal for this year is to be active on campus. I want students and teachers to know who I am because I’m involved! I want to show up for my students to make lots of memories.”

“You cannot be the ‘fun teacher,’ you must be the ‘good teacher’ who likes to have fun.” I love this quote because now students will understand that having fun means getting work done.
