Who is our vital behind the scenes who ensures our school safety ,and helps create effective learning environments? It’s our assistant principal, Ms. Threadgill! You can see her around campus as she greets students during passing periods, schools events, lunch, and dropping in classrooms.
Before being an administrator what did you do, and what drove you to pursue this career?
¨I began as a dance teacher at Sunnyslope High School, and I coached Volleyball while I was there. I then was the Dean at Greenway for 4 years, followed by the Athletic Director at Independence for 2 years. Now, I am back to Greenway as the Assistant Principal of Student Services. I got into Administration because I wanted to have a larger impact on schools as a whole, not just within my classroom,¨ Ms.Threadgill said.

How do you feel about our school and campus and what are stuff you enjoy seeing and things you would like to see differently?
¨I absolutely love being at Greenway High School. This is a campus that feels like family. I enjoy seeing our students and staff being successful and I enjoy celebrating those successes alongside them. I would like to see more students take a chance and challenge themselves with Honors and AP classes,” Ms.Threadgill said.
What are some main qualities you think someone needs to be leader and as our assistant principal?
“I think as a leader, you need to be solution oriented, positive/approachable, driven and organized,” Ms. Threadgill said.
Everyday our leaders show up and show us the importance of being driven and positive. They make our school a positive community to come around and enjoy. The feeling that our high school community brings is amazing, to make everyone feel welcomed.
What is the most unexpected advice someone has given you, and do you use it till this day?
“Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically
act upon… must inevitably come to pass!” -Paul J. Meyer (My dad would always say this quote growing up and it has stuck with me. I still use it to this day),” Ms.Threadgill said.
And lastly, do you have any tips for our Greenway high school students now?
“My advice is to get involved with as many clubs/sports (extra-curriculars) as you can,”
Assistant Principal Ms.Threadgill said.
