Demon Dispatch and GBC were lucky to be invited to attend the Arizona Interscholastic Press Association’s conference and tour the ASU campus.
On October 27 both Demon Dispatch and GBC got to go with the journalism teacher Mr. Johnson to tour ASU.

The day started with everyone arriving at the GBC room in the J building. From there everyone heads to the buses Mr. Johnson took attendance to see if we where missing anyone, everyone was accounted for and we headed out, the bus driver took us about an hour there and an hour back to get to the Tempe ASU campus.
Once we had made it to ASU we had to get off the bus and head to the MU building where we would be listening to speeches and people careers in journalism and other occupations getting awards for their accomplishments.

As soon as the speeches were over everyone had to choose a class to attend for an hour to learn what they wanted. Then after that once again we were told to choose another class to stay in till 11:30.
At 11:30, everyone met back up with Mr. Johnson and he counted us again to make sure we were all counted for. When we were allowed to leave everyone separated and got lunch Mr. Johnson asked if anyone wanted to go eat at the chuck box. A few students went meanwhile my friends and I went to get burger king. I saw my cousin there so he showed us around with whatever time he had.

I asked some of my classmates how their experience was at the ASU campuses, one of them was senior Zoie Brant.
She started off by telling me the two classes she went to” The two classes I took were Sports journalism and then something to do with AI”
During lunch, she ate at a Chick fil which was a 10 minute walk and she was not alone she was with Addy, Stuart, Kenna, and Justin and Tristan. She continued the rest of the day walking around Tempe for a little and went into a merch store.

Another classmate I had asked was Emma Sauerbrei. She told me that the two classes she took were an independent filmmaking class and a sports photography class. She said she ate at the school’s main area in all of the different fast food places. “We went to Chick fil a and Burger King,” the group she was with had Maddie, Leilani, and Abby; they stayed together for the rest of the trip. After they ate they walked around for a little bit and looked around the campus. “My favorite part of the trip was getting to learn new things from the classes I took.”

Then the day ended we all met up again and got on the bus to get back to school and when home.
