Last year’s prom was a hoot; let’s make this one better than ever. Here is some advice from seniors…

Senior Zoie Brant said,
“Advice I’d like to give to juniors coming to prom is to take pictures, have fun, and make memories.”

Senior Raven Gayden said,
“My advice is to only go if you really are going to enjoy it. I did not go during my junior year because I felt it was a waste. Go with people you are going to have a good time with.”
We also asked some people what they would wanna see in the future.

Sophomore Charlyse Menendez stated,
“There are so many amazing themes out there, but a theme I would love to see for prom in the future is the Tim Burton theme! I think that would be so amazing. Some venues I would like to see are the Legends Event Center. That would be very fancy!!”

Sophomore Natali Acevedo said,
“I think the future theme should be glow-in-the-dark/neon.”

Sophomore Makenzee Soza said,
“I think some themes I would like to see in the future are a celestial/starry night theme and maybe an aquarium for a venue.”

Ms. O’Keeffe stated,
“In the future, I want to try new and different spaces for prom, and I’d like to include as many interactive experiences as possible. This year, we have two dance spaces with two DJs. The Civic Center’s main ballroom will have dance music and be more upbeat, and the garden will be lit with lanterns and twinkle lights and will have a better vibe for slow dancing. We’re creating a ton of photo opportunities, including two photo booths with free picture strips printed right there! And because our prom is a little magical, we’ve hired Arizona’s top close-up magician to stroll through prom doing close-up magic for people throughout the night.”
She also stated that,
“This year, we decided to include some new things, including a schwag bag that comes with every ticket, which includes some super fun prom merch you can keep as souvenirs of Night of a Thousand Lights!”
“Next year, we will be at the Phoenix Children’s Museum, which is another super fun space, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what theme the class of 2028 comes up with for that one,”  Ms. O’Keeffe also stated.
Prom is one of the most anticipated nights of the school year, bringing students together to celebrate friendships, memories, and the excitement of what comes next. From picking out the perfect outfit to arriving with friends for photos, the evening is filled with laughter and unforgettable moments.
The dance floor stays busy as classmates enjoy music, take pictures, and make the most of their final months together. More than just a dance, prom is a milestone that marks the transition from high school to new beginnings ahead.
For seniors, prom is more than just a dance; it’s a celebration of everything they’ve accomplished over the past four years.
As graduation approaches, the night gives them a chance to reflect on shared memories, thank the friends and teachers who supported them, and enjoy one last big event together. From emotional photos to the final slow songs of the evening, the senior prom captures.

I like how most of the responses included taking pictures and to make it worth it.

I liked the way you had the seniors give the younger class advice for prom and gave the under class the opinion on what prom should be like.

This does a great job capturing the excitement around prom. The mix of student advice and future ideas makes it interesting and fun. It shows prom as a memorable and meaningful experience for students.
