As the 2025-2026 school year comes to an end, students hold new memories from the assemblies organized by this year’s Student Council. Student Council played a great role in a busy and impactful year filled with great events and initiatives.
Within the first month of school, focused Student Council members organized the first Spirit Week and assembly of the year. Students showed up in creative outfits each day in accordance to the theme “Story of Our Lives” and carried Demon pride and energy in the assembly. Throughout the fall, the council organized traditional school events with the feature of Homecoming. The 2025 Homecoming theme was “A Night In Rio”, highlighting colorful outfits throughout Spirit Week. The council also organized the Homecoming Parade as well as Demon Fest. For the winter, Student Council hosted the energetic winter assembly which included a “Demon Re-Mixed” Spirit Week. Leading up to the last assembly in spring, the theme was a meaningful recognition of cultures where students represented their culture with pride. Prom was also a big highlight of the year as student council members planned to put together themes, decorations, and ticket sales to bring the student body together.

From the first assembly of the school year to the last, student council members reflect on the year filled with accomplishments, growth, and school pride.
The question asked to student council members was: What event stood out to you most this year and how is it meaningful to you?

Junior class President Pierce Szmanda says, “What stood out most to me this year was noticing how welcoming our student council was to new people this year. Seeing so many new people, not just freshmen, join StuCo because they’ve heard how great it was from other people was so sweet. It really showed me how much of an impact we make on the school everyday even though a lot of us may not realize it. All the events we plan to try to bring the community together works, and I love that because it shows how much people care about each other and their community.”
What was your favorite memory in StuCo this year? “My favorite memory in StuCo was definitely planning prom with my class. It brought us closer together and showed me how much they have my back when I needed them. Everyone goes above and beyond, so I really appreciate them. They’re definitely my favorite part of StuCo.”

Senior class President Ramsie Hoil says, “Senior Sunrise was fun, because we actually got all the seniors together, and there were some people I’ve never seen before. There were free donuts, hot cocoa, blankets, and then I went to IHop with my friends after.”

Sophomore class President Jaden Lopez says, “My favorite event would probably be prom, because I got to experience it with my sister again. My friends were there, and there was food and photo booths. I made a lot of memories.”

Freshman class President Aliyana Hatic says, “My favorite StuCo event was Demon Fest, because it was very engaging and everyone had a lot of fun. There were many clubs involved as well and everyone got to make their own float. I thought it was very engaging.”
The success of Student Council highlights what students accomplish when they work together. The new experiences gained and new memories created leave a lasting impact on the school community.
