Mr Feldman, the most involved Athletic Director ever, entered the land of the Demons 24 years ago, and recently he was inducted into the Greenway Hall of Fame. He’s also been awarded the Region Athletic Director of the Year 16 Times. He’s been around for 17 state championships. Along with Multiple GATORADE Players of the Year in Softball and Baseball.
He’s hosted many different events and has allowed Greenway students to experience things they won’t find at other schools. Some of those things include The Favorite Cookie Friday, the Senior Annual Color Powder Party, Powder Puff, Faculty Follies, and the Inspire Dance Show, just to name a few.
What events are your all-time favorites to host?
“As for which of these events I enjoy most, it’s hard to say. Hoopin’ It Up is one of my favorites as I get to provide an experience that they can do nowhere else, not only to our students (athletes, cheer, dance, band, choir) but also to those of many schools across the entire state of Arizona. The same reason I like the Inspire Dance Showcase is that it does the same thing.”

How many hours do you put into Greenway each day?
“As far as hours on campus, they are too numerous even to think about how many. I am here every day before 5:00 am and usually one of the last, if not the last, person to leave every day as well. I work many Saturdays, with all the events we have on campus, and most vacations. You will always find me here. I love what I do!”

What´s one thing you’ll miss about Greenway the most?
“What I will miss most are the people and the relationships I have made over my time being here. Yes, you do forge relationships with students, but they are here only for a short time. They come and go. I have known so many people who work here for the entire time I have been here, and they are like family. I will miss them the most!”
All in all, Mr Feldman has a lot on his plate every single day, but he still manages to handle it all. He oversees 19 co-ed athletic programs and puts a great deal of time and energy into making each one successful. On top of that, he’s raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to improve athletic facilities and programs. Thanks to his efforts, there have been major upgrades, including new gym floors for both the competition and practice gyms, updated baseball and softball clubhouses, improvements to the weight room, and new uniforms for all sports.

Here’s what Coach Peterson had to say about Mr. Feldman.
“Jeff Feldman and I started at Greenway at the same time. I was his first hire as a coach, which was in May of 2003. I can honestly say he is the best athletic director in the state of Arizona. He is very supportive of all the programs here at Greenway and goes above and beyond what anyone could imagine. I could go on and on about how special he is and what he has done for Greenway, but it would take too long! I know I would not still be coaching if it weren’t for Feldman. He makes my job easy with all the support he gives me and the programs that I coach. Feldman was very instrumental in our 3 girls’ volleyball state championships. He was at every match, cheering and supporting us on and off the court. Again, without him, I know Greenway would not be the school it is today. We will all miss him dearly, and we wish him the very best!!”
