Interview with Key Club co-sponsor Ms. Hudson-
What is the key club about and why is it important?
Community service has always been important to me. I actually attended Greenway and Independence High School and while attending Independence I joined the Student Council. It was there I found a love for helping others. We did community service together and that led me to joining a sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho sorority Incorporated in college. This organization is based upon serving the community. It has always brought me great joy to serve others. Fun fact – (my first name) ‘Paige’ is derived from a latin word ‘pagius’ which means servant or helper.
What is the greatest challenge of Key Club?
“I would likely say one of the hardest parts of KEY club, if there is one, is keeping new students invested in KEY Club as much as officers and returning members. Those students who are committed remain committed. But as with anything, there are students who want to help with specific events and outside of those things they would rather not support.”

“If we’re speaking to a specific challenge or obstacles that the club has overcome, I would likely say that planning and organizing successful community service events can be daunting and sometimes discouraging when it doesn’t plan out how it was envisioned. But, seeing through those events and watching them become great events is the greatest obstacle that KEY club has overcome.”
How does a key club help with leadership? I think that true leadership is developed from passion and opportunities. With KEY club, students can use both to develop their own leadership abilities.

Who else sponsors Key Club?
This will be my first year working with Ms. Ferguson to co-sponsor Key Club. I did also support Mr. Morales a little bit.
How long do you want to work with Key Club?
I hope to help out with the KEY club as long as I am at Greenway. I don’t plan on going anywhere any time soon. So, who knows – maybe I’ll be here for many years.
